Let's work on happiness and sucess together
So many people and so many opinions. In many debates, it's not always a right or wrong. We've talked about culture this 2nd week of school and Culture affects your beliefs and even your opinion of right or wrong. Flocabulary left us today with a very debatable topic, Should our government step in and force the makers of Epipen to lower prices? Many students said yes because it's for saving lives not making money. But America is a Market economy and founded on Capitalism so some students said no our government is already controlling too much. I love how my students had their own beliefs and opinions but listened to others and realized they have a right to their opinion too! Think Win Win and Seek first to understand then be understood was used in my class today. It wasn't about 1 person being right but rather that we listen and seek to understand others even when we don't agree. So proud to be a Scorpion!
We are over half way thru the 1st week. I've so enjoyed getting to know my students as well as all 7th graders! I have set a few goals for the next few weeks and for the year. I am going to be more positive, be a better listener, be a motivator, and believe a better tomorrow starts today. One of the ways I can work on my goals is to Begin with the End in Mind and Seek First to Understand then be Understood. I'm hoping that the things you see and do this year involving Leadership and Lead will change you in a positive way as it has me. So what are you hoping to be better at this year? How can you work towards that goal?
Amazing how far the coverage of this now world wide disease has come since we first read about it just 6 weeks ago when we studied the bubonic plague. Do you think it will mutate and become air-borne? What should the United States do to try to prevent it from affecting and infecting more Americans?
